Versailles announced on their official website that their bassist Jasmine You has passed away on August 9th. The bassist had previously announced that he would take some time off the band to take care of his health issues, and that the group would be continuing recording their upcoming album without him.
The band states that further details about Jasmine You's death will be revealed to fans as soon as they receive permission from his family. The group has also said that all their upcoming activities will be postponed indefinitely.
*personal note:
I saw Jasmine You in NYC when Versailles played there. It was probably my favorite concert of 2008. We had such an awesome time.
I have never felt so bonded with an audience.
This is such sad news & I was completely shocked.
Rest in peace my talented friend.
